Nokia Lumia 800 Battery Problem to Be Fixed

Similar to the battery issue experienced by many iPhone 4S users, the Nokia Lumia 800 also behaved the same way and had customers sending complaints about its mediocre batter lifespan. Though the Nokia Lumia 800 is deemed as a well-made mobile phone, it battery problem has been battering its sales and performance in the market.

The Nokia Lumia 800 is a good combination of stylish design and powerful operating system. Unfortunately, it was not able to live up, literally, to the length of time it claims the battery to last.

As a solution, two software updates from Nokia are on the way to address this cumbersome problem. It is strongly hoped for that after these updates, Nokia Lumia 800 will perform like its predecessors, which can last for a very long time switched on and being used.

According to the statement released by Nokia, the software updates will be made available in early December. These updates will include enhancement in the power usage and efficiency of the Nokia Lumia 800. Both software updates are already set in and will be made available through Zune.

Though Nokia Lumia 800 incurred issues in its power efficiency, not all units are affected by this problem. In reality, only a small number of consumers complained about it and only a few of the Nokia Lumia 800 units were reported to have batter problems. Still, to prevent more damage, it is good to know that Nokia acted immediately to address this problem.

Like any modern, high-end smartphone the Nokia Lumia 800 makes heavy demands on battery life to deliver a premium experience. As much as possible has been done to optimize performance through use of offline content and selection of component technologies. Users can adjust settings themselves to increase battery performance, such as turning off Wifi scanning and location search until needed, but they should expect to recharge their Nokia Lumia device daily based on average usage.

So the best solution suggested by Nokia is to turn off the wifi when not needed and, if necessary, we add, to bring more below the charger.

In addition, the settings, you can configure the phone in order to reduce energy consumption and increase battery life. As you can see in the picture above you can enable automatic mode “Battery Save is always active when the battery is low” or activate the “save until the next battery charge.” Enabling these settings the phone will turn off some services that require a network connection, such as synchronization of email and apps in the background, with the consequent increase in the duration of energy resources.

Nokia now has  availability of software fixes for the problem. Software update has 1600.2483.8106.11500 version, which is claimed not merely to bring improvements to battery problems but also offers enhanced Wi-Fi connectivity

In may my old phone contract will expire that means I can go for a phone upgrade and am considering the Nokia Lumia 710. Can I use the WiFi on this phone without the data plan? I DO NOT want to start paying for a data plan. I saw in the manual where you turn the WiFi on and off, but will the phone want to force me to use ... , but if I walk to the wrong part of the room and lose my signal I don't want to be paying for per usage on the phone's 4G. Any information on this?
